EMERGENCY PLAN |
In case of a medical or dental emergency, Mel Family Daycare will take these emergency steps but are not limited to:
- Contact the parent(s).
- Contact another person listed on the Emergency Authorization Card.
- Repeat attempts to contact the parents.
- Administer First Aid/CPR if necessary.
- Attempt to contact the child’s physician.
- If you cannot be reached and if necessary, we will take your child to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment or measures deemed necessary for the safety and protection of your child.
- In a life threatening situation we will call 911 for emergency medical care.
- This will be done at your expense.

Fire and disaster drills are held regularly to familiarize your child with evacuation procedures. In the event of an emergency or natural disaster, all children will be kept at my home or at the Walgrove Elementary School until they are picked up by an authorized person as indicated on the Identification and Emergency Authorization Form.
Please provide an Earthquake survival package with enough food and water to supply your child for a three-day period. We will check this package each year. Please know, your child will be well cared for.
We also ask that you provide contact information for at least one family member that my be out-of-state. We will keep this information on file.
